Our florist+mismatching bridesmaids dresses

[Flowers by Rae Florae, photos by Susan Yee of En Pointe Photography]

We booked the very talented Paula Rae of Rae Florae to make the bouquets, bouts, and aisle decor. I requested a lot of flowers that I originally thought would not be in season, but Paula made my day by saying we might be able to grab some that bloom late--including peonies! Our requested flower list included peonies, dahlias, ranunculus, anemones, and sweet peas.

For the centerpieces, my sister and I are going to do potted plants/flowers. Paula alerted me of this awesome non-profit that will deliver our flowers to hospitals, senior centers, hospice centers, homeless shelters, and rehabilitation centers. It is San Diego-based and called Blooms From The Heart. Now we don't have to worry if people will bring them home or not!

I fell in love with these yellow bridesmaid bouquets, and the awesome mismatched dresses! Aren't they great? I love the pop of color and hope our wedding is filled with such beautiful bright hues.

Too Good to Toss

Ah, flowers. It seems as though on my budget spreadsheet, flowers and cake are hanging out together begging me to pay attention to them. Research us! Look at us! Why do we have so little money attached to our cells!

My excel sheets talk to me, don't yours?

We probably won't be able to have a florist make centerpieces, but I'd like a pro to make my bouquet, two bridesmaids' bouquets, a flower girl bouquet, three bouts and five corsages. Wow that sounds like a lot more when you write it down!

Here are some of my inspiration pictures so far. The sister calls them "wild". What do you think?

The Flower Fields

[All photos taken by Mo, with the exception of the beautiful shot of me+Karen as corn which was taken by a kind stranger.]

Today was a beautiful day in San Diego County, and I got to spend it with my good friend, Karen, at The Flower Fields in Carlsbad. We got to bask in the colors of the ranunculus fields, and take some really pretty pictures! I think this means May has officially arrived.
