It Has Been 10 Years for Elizabeth and Jessica, Too

[Book cover of Sweet Valley Confidential]

Speaking of high school reunions, has anyone read Sweet Valley Confidential, the latest from Francine Pascal and her beloved "perfect size 6" (now perfect size 4!) Wakefield twins? Apparently the twins are now 27 and dun dun DUN not speaking to one another and living on opposite coasts.  I haven't read it, but I read some SVH in my upper elementary days and even had...the board game.

Yes my friends. There was a board game. I always wanted to be Elizabeth. (There was no way I was a Jessica.)

I also had a Babysitter's Club phase and devoured most of those. I was a Mary Anne longing to be a Claudia. Or maybe I just wanted Claudia's wardrobe. And I never could figure out which Sex and the City character I am--maybe a hybrid of Miranda and Charlotte? I feel like Miranda would barf at the site of my blog, but Charlotte would already be wearing an outfit that color-coordinated with it.

Were you reading Sweet Valley High or The Babysitter's Club under the covers? Any other Elizabeths, Mary Annes, or Miranda-Charlottes?

I LOVED BABY SITTERS CLUB! I have the best BSC book collection. I always thought I was a Claudia (I mean, let's face it, Asians identify with other Asians) or the smart, quiet, shy, do-gooder Mary Anne. Sadly, when I reread my collection in college it didn't hold the same appeal for me.

I'd be interested in reading the new SVH..

@The Professional Bridesmaid: You can read all about it here!: http://gawker.com/#!5004617/random-house-proudly-promoting-eating-disorders.
Does it make it better that the game was a present? Little you and little me would have totally played it, right after we compared the outfits we made using Barbie fashion plates.

@Kristin: Claudia was the best, wasn't she? Fashion forward, artistic, spunky, and so popular. How did all of the babysitters ALWAYS have dates? And they always found boys on vacation and had these fabulous group vacations to Disney World and Hawaii. Those were seriously my favorites, when they all go to go on vacation, and small details, like what they were wearing to where everyone was sleeping was spelled out for you as if you were there. Le sigh, BSC!

I was addicted -- ADDICTED -- to the Sweet Valley Twins books for years, though I never got into Sweet Valley High. I always wanted to be Elizabeth. I just related to her so well. I'll definitely have to check out this new book. I'm really curious!

Is this for real! How funny! I was addicted as well! Thanks for sharing! :) And as far as BSC goes I always wanted to be Stacey, but have the artistic talent of Claudia!

i was DEFINITELY a baby sitter's club kinda girl. however, i was at a trivia night and they asked something about sweet valley high - definitely wish i would have branched out as a 2nd grader. :)

Ahhh... memories!! My friends and I were Sweet Valley fans back in school, not so much BSC though. Lolz... I think I wanted to be Jessica. I love the mischiefs she gets up to all the time!

I loved both those series - BSC and SVT/SVH! Aw the memories ... but oddly enough, Jessica and Elizabeth were a little older than me, and now they're 2 years younger. Weird :)
