Post-Wedding Chop-Ideas?

[My hair from last year...it's around the same length now]

It seems that getting married entails purging your apartment and getting your hair cut, and while I'm in the process of sorting through files from 2007, I have yet to tackle my hair.

I would really like to be able to pull this off:

But this would require effort on my part, like curling it, and I'm really lazy and barely comb my hair in the morning. My stylist already frowned when I asked about a digital perm because of the damage it would inflict on my locks.

What's a girl with straight dark hair to do? Pull a Knives Chau and try to look like Ramona Flowers?

Naw. Although I do like purple. And bangs.

Did you get a post-wedding chop? What do you think I should do?

I ended up just cutting my hair myself one day b/c I was too hot working outside on our big landscaping project! I cut it to the bottom of my ears and buzzed it short in the back.

I have not had my wedding yet, why not get lots of layers and a bit of colour and you can just use some styling wax, rub in hair for that messy chic look and out the door quick as... prob what i will do after mine. xoxo

I had my hair cut the morning after the wedding. Probably took off 8 inchoes or so. Squeezed it in before our flight for our honeymoon! That's how anxious I was to cut my hair!

You should have something awesome done when you're in Japan!

Forget what your stylist says about the digital perm. My friend got it and her hair always looks done. Imagine waking up and having your hair already curled and ready to go.

I will warn you though. Digital perms don't come cheap and I highly doubt it will be any cheaper in Japan. Expect to be out $300 if you do it.

And if you go the Knives Chau route, don't let any mean hipster drummer punch the highlights out. That's just mean.

@Genevieve: *bows down* Wow!
I can't even cut my own bangs.

@Hari: Layers look good, and I did like coloring my hair darker (even though I was the only one that could tell!) Thanks for the advice. :)

@Glo: I'm pretty antsy right now too!

@R: Oooh I didn't even think of that! I can't imagine them having qualms about tainting my healthy hair...

@dayseye: Wasn't that just heartbreaking? I felt so sorry for her after that. But then she ends up kicking ass after that, so it was all good. And she didn't even need the highlights.

$300...le sigh. Not sure I can justify that cost. Does the $300 comes with the promise of looking like Lucy Liu?

Does your hair fall straight? How about a long layered bob? I didn't get a chop until a few months ago! There was too much moving around. It's still long but more structured now.

Knives! That girl was adorable.

@Chic 'n Cheap: It's pretty straight, when I curl it it comes out in less than an hour! I was thinking of a layered bob and a lot of side bangs.
Structure is good. We can compare hair--in person! Can't wait to meet up.

@Maggie: Wasn't she? She was just so candy-coated sweet and nice.
